Fátima Sancheznieto

CIMER Module Team Lead

Fátima Sancheznieto is an associate researcher at the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) at the University of Wisconsin – Madison’s School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH). She is also an Associate Director at the Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research (CIMER). In her experience as an evaluator and researcher, Fátima is interested in the development, implementation, and testing of career and professional development initiatives for early career researchers. She regularly facilitates mentor, mentee, and facilitator training through CIMER and also coordinates programming for graduate students at the Interdisciplinary Biological and Health Sciences Consortium (IBHSC) at UW Madison’s SMPH. As a transgender, neurodiverse, and Latina scientist, she works toward the empowerment of graduate students and postdocs in their training environments and mentoring relationships. She recently served as President of Future of Research, an advocacy organization for early career researchers, and on the Mentorship, Wellbeing, and Career Development roundtable at the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Mathematics.
