Series | Flipped-classroom Career Exploration

Dr. Rainey has over eight years of professional expertise in career and professional development, spanning five institutions. With Ms. Marilyn Yeager, Rainey co-leads and co-teaches the IDP Career Exploration Series, a flipped-classroom career exploration series competitively selected to be part of the pd|hub Collection: Foundations of Career Exploration for PhD Scientists. Rainey has accumulated over 1500 direct contact hours with students at liberal arts, state land-grant, and research-intensive institutions, and has developed and delivered numerous programs focused on career development. Rainey’s leadership accomplishments include developing an online training program for staff and faculty across the University of Louisiana System to embed career development into post-COVID online instructional courses. Rainey is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), Southern Association of Colleges and Employers, and Graduate Career Consortium. Rainey holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Lock Haven University, a master’s degree in Industrial and Labor Relations and doctorate in Administration and Leadership Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a master’s degree in Student Affairs Counseling from Youngstown State University. Rainey currently serves as Senior Career Coordinator for Graduate Student Career Services at Texas A&M University.
