Suprawee Tepsuporn

Session | Self-assessment to Guide Career Exploration

Dr. Tepsuporn’s mission is to inspire, educate, and empower graduate students and postdocs through the creation of data- and impact-driven professional development initiatives that promote equity, foster professional growth, and encourage intentional career decision making. Tepsuporn developed, and adapted across multiple institutions, the Career Compass workshop–a self-assessment session competitively selected to be part of the pd|hub Collection: Foundations of Career Exploration for PhD Scientists. Tepsuporn collaborates with colleagues to develop and implement training programs that span leadership, teaching, mentoring, effective communication, wellbeing, and career development skills. Tepsuporn holds a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Mount Holyoke College and doctorate in Immunology from Harvard University, and completed postdoctoral training in Oncology at AstraZeneca. She transitioned into career development in 2014 via an internship in the Center for Career Development at Boston University. Prior to Tepsuporn’s current role as Senior Assistant Dean for Graduate Professional Development in the University of Delaware Graduate College, she advised and mentored graduate students and postdoctoral researchers on the process of career exploration, self-assessment, decision-making, and job search techniques at various academic institutions including Boston University, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
