pd|hub shares strategies for inclusive and equitable teaching practices at the Graduate Career Consortium Annual Conference

Date Posted: miércoles, junio 21, 2023

Join pd|hub on Wednesday, June 28 at 3:10 p.m. at the 2023 Graduate Career Consortium Annual Conference in Indianapolis, where we will be presenting our session, "From Principles to Practice: Action-oriented Approaches to Create More Inclusive Programs." As we have developed the pd|hub Collections, we have worked with DEI consultants Drs. Kimberly Griffin, Liza Talusan, Angela Byars-Winston, and Steve Lee to enhance programs to (a) acknowledge ways that systemic biases impact students'/postdocs' career exploration, and (b) incorporate inclusive teaching strategies with intentionality. This session builds on recommendations in the GCC Resource Guide for Inclusive, Equitable, and Accessible Programming, sharing examples of practical strategies for adapting teaching, facilitation, and implementation practices to be more inclusive and equitable. pd|hub Collection Fellows Suprawee Tepsuporn and Ryan Wheeler will discuss actions they have taken to design more inclusive, identity-conscious learning environments for their existing programs. Then, participants will reflect on their own strategies and practice applying an identity-conscious lens to a program of their own.

After the session, learn more about these and other pd|hub activities at our poster, held on Thursday at 3 p.m. We will be available to answer questions about the pd|hub Collections experience—for Fellows and for Implementation Sites—and other actions of pd|hub. Join us, share your input, and learn about how to get involved!
