pd|hub Scientific Societies Group Launches New Resource for STEMM Professionals
Date Posted: Friday, January 23, 2026In response to the growing need for accessible tools that help scientists explore career pathways, strengthen professional skills, and connect with supportive communities, the pd|hub Scientific Societies Group recently compiled a resource featuring open-access materials offered by these member societies. The resources listed are designed to support, engage, and promote the success of early-, mid-, and later-stage scientists as they pursue their professional goals.
This resource is a collaborative project of the recently-expanded pd|hub Scientific Societies Group. Initially formed in 2019 following the pd|hub Stakeholder Workshop held at Janelia Research Campus, this cross-disciplinary group launched with the aim of collaboratively supporting systemic change by leveraging the unique strengths of scientific societies and the power of coming together across disciplines. Through brief monthly meetings, members exchange ideas, develop shared resources, and plan events that transcend disciplinary boundaries to meet the evolving needs of the scientific community. In 2025, pd|hub welcomed multiple new organizations to this group.
Current members include representatives from the American Chemical Society (ACS), American Geophysical Union (AGU), American Physical Society (APS), American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB), American Society for Microbiology (ASM), the Biophysical Society (BPS), Genetics Society of America (GSA), and the Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS).
We look forward to continuing to work together with these leading societies, all of which are deeply committed to advancing career and professional development for early-career scientists.
