pd|hub presents at ASBMB Annual Meeting ‘26
Date Posted: Monday, March 02, 2026Join us on Sunday, March 8th at 11:15am ET at the ASBMB Annual Meeting ‘26 in Washington D.C. for a session exploring Innovative Approaches to Educating Across the Continuum of Career Stages. In alignment with this theme, our talk, Frameworks for Understanding Career Transitions: Literature to Inform Student and Postdoctoral Career Development Support, will be presented as part of the symposium Making the Leap from Advanced Degree to Industry: How Trainers and Trainees Can Partner for a Successful Transition. Our session will introduce frameworks from vocational psychology literature that can inform development of effective practices for supporting students and postdocs as they explore career options and advance their own career development—while elevating awareness for the complexity of this process. We will connect these frameworks to enhancing use of Individual Development Plans, mentorship, and programmatic approaches. We also will highlight how to access lesson plans and other resources through the soon-to-be-launched, NIH-funded Professional Development Hub (pd|hub) Collection: Foundations of Career Exploration for PhD Scientists.
If you are attending the ASBMB Annual Meeting, and want to deepen your understanding of the frameworks that underlie career development, we invite you to join us!
